Anti-bird spikes and nets

Before placing anti-bird spikes or nets on a balcony, terrace, rooftop, boat, wall, window sill or skylight, we must evaluate different aspects:

Target species: pigeons, seagulls, sparrows, swallows, starlings or cats, etc.
Effectiveness: determine whether the installation solves the problem 100%.
Aesthetics: the discretion and size of the product, color of the material, discomfort it may cause, etc. must be assessed.

Anti-pigeon spikes

Anti-pigeon spikes prevent pigeons and other similar birds from roosting or nesting in certain areas without causing them harm. Tips we offer before acquiring them:
  1. Material: stainless steel is the material we recommend because it is effective, durable and rustproof.
  2. Measurements: the length is 10 to 15 centimeters. Another aspect to consider is the density to avoid spaces where to perch or nest and the angle to cover the whole area.
  3. Placement: we must ensure that they can be installed on the surface and that they can be glued with silicone or nailed.
  4. Safety: tips should be blunt or rounded to avoid damage to installers and birds.

Spikes for swallows

Before installing these spikes, it should be clear that swallows nest under eaves, shingles or rafters. The spikes should be angled upward and fan out to prevent the birds from finding space to perch. The spikes for swallows must be shorter than those for pigeons (5 to 8cm), and the spacing between spikes must be smaller to prevent them from perching and nesting.

Seagull spikes

Spikes for gulls must be more robust and longer (20 to 30cm) than those for pigeons, and the spacing between spikes can be greater.

Cat spikes

For the installation of jacks we recommend plastic spikes. The spikes should be uncomfortable, but not dangerous. They should not be sharp so as not to hurt the cat. They are placed on the edges of walls, fences, windows, balconies, pipes, moldings, facades, air conditioning condensers, awnings, cornices, railings, downspouts, skylights, boats, construction or harbor cranes where cats could climb or jump. The spikes are unobtrusive and barely visible and can be nailed to flat surfaces, used with flanges, glued with silicone or even double-sided adhesives.

Anti-pigeon and sparrow nets

The installation of an anti pigeon, seagull or sparrow netting is a very effective and relatively low cost solution. The protective netting is installed to prevent birds from nesting in buildings, interior courtyards, skylights and on the facades of private homes. It is one of the most effective and durable methods of preventing urban birds from roosting on buildings. When properly installed, using the right mesh size, they will keep away even the most persistent birds no matter how high the pressure. They are highly resistant, do not absorb water, are visually unaffected by extreme temperature changes, are chemically inert and have excellent electrical insulation properties.
